Michigan’s 2016 energy law included a Distributed Generation (DG) Program to replace the former Net Metering Program. Alpena Power’s DG program too effect January 1, 2022. When you become part of the DG program, the energy you generate will decrease your need to buy electricity from us, and we will also credit you for extra energy you produce.
