Power Outage

At 2:58 pm, on Friday August 5th, 2022, Alpena Power Company experienced a significant power outage due to an equipment malfunction at one of its major substations. The outage affected almost all of Alpena Power customers from the M-32 corridor south to Alcona County including the areas of Alpena, Ossineke, Spruce, Hubbard Lake and Wilson Township.
In total, approximately 6,700 customers lost power in the event. At 3:12 pm, 3,400 customers had their power restored and the remaining 3,300 were restored at 3:46 pm. The issue has been resolved so if anyone is still experiencing a power outage, please contact Alpena Power at (989) 358-4900 to report the issue.
