Beginning the morning of Friday April 12, 2024, Alpena Power Customers began to experience outages caused by a major rain and windstorm. At the peak of the storm yesterday evening about 2500 customers were without power. The affected areas are mainly within a few miles of the lakeshore from Ossineke to Presque Isle, as well as the west side of Grand Lake. As of 9:00 am this morning there are currently about 1100 customers without power. All available APC personnel are out working around the clock to restore the remaining outages.
Please keep the following safety tip in mind
• Stay at least 25 feet away from downed wires and anything they are touching, keep children or pets away, and report the issue by calling 9-1-1 and Alpena Power Company at (989) 358-4900
